1) You will receive soon a form to confirm the list of courses you want to take for UE1 (external or not). You will have to complete the form and send it, but please do not hesitate to discuss with the director of your track before sending it, because he could give you advices (and sometimes he could not authorize the choice of some external courses). Remember you will have to choose exactly 30 ECTS for this UE1.
2) If you have been authorized to do a second year in M2 MMMEF, you will also have to fill the form: then put in the form the courses you have validated the previous year (>=10) and the remaining courses (replacing the courses for which you get <10 the previous year). These replacing courses could be similar or not.
3) Below are some examples of Masters where external courses was followed by some students of MMMEF in previous year (Be careful: the acceptance of an external to MMMEF is not guaranteed: see the exact process at the end of this page).
1. Master 2 APE (Paris School of Economics)
2. Master 2 IRFA (Paris 1, UFR 27)
3. Master 2 TIDE (Paris 1, UFR 02)
4. Maste 2 MOSEF (Paris 1, UFR 02)
Be also careful to avoid redondancy of courses and of domains: for exemple, two many course in computer sciences may be refused by the director of your track because MMMEF is not a master related to computer sciences.
Also, you should not take course related to language (like: English Economics, English Business). The external courses should have a high quantitative content.
4) The process to choose an external course if the following:
1) When you have seen an external course that you would like to follow, you immediately write to the director of your track (EFG Philippe Bich, Quantitative finance Christophe Chorro, ODS Michel Grabisch, Economic theory Marcus Pivato), to get his authorization.
2) You then ask the teacher of the course to give you a written confirmation (e.g. email) that he authorizes you to follow the course (and the exam).
3) You transmit the written authorization of the teacher to the director of your track and to the administration [email protected]
Remark that MMMEF, the teachers and the administration are not in charge of courses outside MMMEF, and so they cannot help you to get the material of an external course, etc...
